Love Letters to Trans Texans
Over the past few years, we’ve received over two thousand love letters in solidarity from people all over the world, from Seattle to Kansas City to the UK. These Love Letters are not only a testament to the resilience of trans Texans, but that they are also seen, cared for, and loved far beyond their home state.
HOW IT WORKS
Love Letters come in all shapes and sizes – we love seeing the diversity and creativity of the letters sent to us. In the past, folks have used crayons, markers, and pens on various mediums.
Guidelines for submitting physical love letters:
- Cards can be any shape, size, or format you’d like.
- Heartfelt messages of encouragement and solidarity are encouraged, but we would ask that you avoid including any potentially-triggering topics, personal cell/email addresses, or cash.
- Please include the date and city where it was written.
If you would like to send a physical card please send it 11611 W. Airport Blvd #180, Meadows Place, TX 77477.
No materials? No problem! You can write and submit letters via our online form.
How you can receive a letter
Due to the scale of the project, we currently have two main ways of getting our love letters into the hands of trans Texans:
- Our team distributes letters when at in-person events across the state of Texas – stay tuned for where to find us!
- Organizations can request to receive a number of letters, to distribute to their members. Similarly, small businesses can create a “free love letters” box to distribute to trans visitors.
To request letters for your community group to distribute, email us at info@transtexas.org.
